Each person on this site can be designated public or private.  Living persons can be marked private to avoid identity theft concerns particularly birthdates, however, each contributor may make the public/private decision on each person entered.  Additionally, a person's name and relationships can be public but their events, places and dates may be kept confidential from the public. These selections are made on the People/Individuals page.
